Definitions
- The last flight maneuver by an aircraft in a successful landing, wherein the balloon’s descent is reduced to a path nearly parallel to the landing surface.
- A maneuver accomplished prior to landing to slow a helicopter.

- A maneuver accomplished prior to landing to slow down a rotor-craft.
- The slow, smooth transition from a normal approach attitude to a landing attitude. This maneuver is accomplished in a PPC by pulling down on the steering lines to increase drag, reducing the forward speed and decreasing the rate of descent.
